HOW TO INSTALL VTEC ADD-ON TO 11F0 HONDA ECU

Kits bought from other sellers linked you to my site illegally and most likely will not work for your kit anyways because components do differ from seller to seller.
 
Remember as advertised in the auction if you are not experienced with electronic components as well as soldering and desoldering then this kit is most likely be too hard for you to install,  please seek the assistance of someone experienced enough to install this kit.
 
First make sure you have everything as seen in the picture
C60 - electrolytic capacitor
Q101 - PNP switching transistor
D11 - Clamping Diode
IC14 - High Side Switch
R201 - 10k ohm resistor
J10 - 0 ohm resistor (jumper wire)
Around half an inch of Heat shrink tubing
 
Step 1: Make sure you have the correct ECU sub model. You can check this by looking in the circled area of the ecu.
 

Step 2: Find and desolder the holes for the components IC14, C60, Q101, R201 and J10. If any of them already have something in them then leave it. Example, this ECU already had R201 in place so I am leaving it installed.

Step 3: Find and desolder the holes for the component D11

Step 4: Install the high side switch at IC14. Do not forget to cross pins 3 and 5. Heat shrink is provided to to protect these pins from crossing. If the picture below does not help then please see this link. IC14 preparation

Step 5: Install the components at C60, Q101, R201 and J10. The polarity of C60 and Q101 do matter. Please see the part list at the beginning of these instructions and the markings on the ECU board to figure out the polarity.

Step 6: Install the clamping diode at D11. The polarity of D11 does matter. Please see the part list at the beginning of these instructions and the markings on the ECU board to figure out the polarity.

 

Troubleshooting:

If you get a code 20 then your ELD is bad or your car does not have one. This code will not cause the ECU to run in limp mode or put a yellow CEL on your dash unless you are trying to pull a code

If you get a code 21 then check your pins on the high side switch to make sure no pins are touching each other. Ensure the heat shrink is giving you the coverage you need. Also check to make sure the polarity is correct for Q101, D11 and C60

If your VTEC is not engaging but you get no CEL make sure your programmed chip has vtec enabled. If your using the same chip you had before you put this kit in then most likely VTEC will not work for you until you get another chip.
